Goldsmith – from €500 per year for a period of 5 years

• All the benefits of the Gatekeeper
• An annual exclusive meeting with all Goldsmiths in combination with a lecture or presentation or with a special guest. This gives you the opportunity to meet the other members, share your interests and network.
• You can record this periodic gift in a written agreement with the museum, making it tax-deductible. Depending on income and age, the tax benefit can easily be between 42% and 52%. For example, a donation of €500 at a tax rate of 42% means an annual net expenditure of €237. You will find more information here.

How can you bequeath to Verwey Museum Haarlem?

You hereby record in your will that Verwey Museum Haarlem receive a certain amount, a portfolio of securities or real estate after your death. We call this a bequest. You can also include a percentage of your estate in lieu of a certain amount. 

Inheritance

It is also possible to visit Verwey Museum Haarlem as a (joint) heir in your will. Verwey Museum Haarlem will receive (part of) the final proceeds of your estate, in addition to your relatives, friends and other charities. This is called an inheritance.

Tax exemption

Tax is normally levied on an estate: the inheritance tax. This can be up to forty percent. Verwey Museum Haarlem is, like many other charities, completely exempt from inheritance tax, because it is designated as a Public Benefit Institution (ANBI). So whether it concerns a large or a small amount, your entire donation will benefit Verwey Museum Haarlem.

Special wishes

You can also choose a special destination that you leave behind. This could be something that is very important to you or that you are passionate about, such as an educational program or a contribution to the temporary exhibitions or the preservation of the collection.

tax benefit

Verwey Museum Haarlem is registered as a Cultural ANBI. An ANBI is exempt from gift tax. For a benefactor, the ANBI status means a tax advantage in income tax and corporate income tax.

What does this mean for Friends and one-off donors?

Thanks to our ANBI status, donating provides tax benefits for individuals and companies. Compared to a normal ANBI, a donation to a Cultural ANBI even yields more benefits thanks to the 25% extra deduction that applies when donating to this ANBI.

For example, a regular donation can be a monthly, annual or one-off donation. Ordinary donations must be demonstrable for the tax authorities. This can be done, for example, via a bank statement. As a one-off donor or friend, you are eligible for the tax benefits that apply to a regular gift, because this is also deductible.

There is, however, a threshold amount. This threshold amount for ordinary donations is 1% of the threshold income with a minimum of € 60. There is also a maximum of 10% for the deduction of ordinary donations.

What does this mean if you want to become a goldsmith?

In order to receive more tax benefits and to donate without a threshold, you can record the donations as a periodic donation with a minimum of five years. This donation is fully deductible from taxable income. This therefore applies to you as a Goldsmith with a periodic donation from € 500 for at least five years. A periodic donation must be laid down in an agreement for this purpose. You will receive this agreement after registering with the Verwey Museum Haarlem.

Gifts

It is a unique gift for someone who is dear to you or who you want to put in the spotlight. The story screen is part of the retrospective exhibition All Haarlemmers, which shows that the history of a city is made by the inhabitants themselves.
