On the back of Bigi Kayman
In On the back of Bigi Kayman the world of the children Afi and Kofi and their family, who live as slaves on a plantation in Suriname, is brought to life.
An exhibition on the occasion of the commemoration of the abolition of slavery, curated by Henna Goudzand Nahar and Hedy Tjin and based on the acclaimed book of the same name.
It is exceptional that the story in the exhibition is told by the enslaved children and not by adults. This perspective makes it an accessible and understandable exhibition for children from the age of five.
