open seven days a week

workshop series: pick up the D(R)AAD

March 28, April 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2024

Participate in this five-part series in which you create your unique embroidery story, led by Amsterdam textile artist Stella Toonen. Whether you want to attend one session or all five, everyone is welcome!

Discover the theme of protest and healing by exploring embroidery techniques, guided by inspiration from artists such as Lilly Lulay and Patricia Kaersenhout from the D(R)AAD exhibition.

Enhance your story with collage techniques and printed photos on fabric. Choose Haarlemse archive photos, news footage, or bring your personal photos.
During the last workshop you combine all the elements into one image and finish the whole thing. The end result will be exhibited in the museum café during the last week of the exhibition.

Sign up and discover the power of creativity and connection through embroidery. See you soon!
