natural haarlem & surroundings –
antoon erftemeijer and otto schilling
February 1st to April 27th 2025
Beautiful nature is sometimes closer than you think. Certainly Haarlem and surroundings have a lot to offer in that respect. The painters Antoon Erftemeijer and Otto Schilling explored this strikingly green living environment for years and painted countless impressions with dedication: on estates and in dune areas, in city parks and courtyards, and even in tree-lined churchyards. Their works are a hymn to a unique part of the Netherlands. An area in which nature still has every opportunity, and which will hopefully continue to do so in the future. From 1 February, these works by Erftemeijer and Schilling can be admired in the exhibition Of course Haarlem & environment.
Antoon Erftemeijer (1954) and Otto Schilling (1953) both studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a book of the same name Of course Haarlem & environment, for sale for 20 euros in the museum shop and in the bookstore.
