Let love reign in the Film Dome
Film program in collaboration with FilmKoepel Haarlem, inspired by the exhibition
On Wednesday March 26th we organize in the FilmKoepel in Haarlem a special film evening that is entirely dedicated to the exhibition Let love rule – Dolly Bellefleur 35 years on the barricadesAfter an introduction by Dolly Bellefleur, the film Pride (2014) by Matthew Warchus will be shown.
About Pride
The film Pride (2014) is a true story that takes place in the United Kingdom in the 80s, during the miners' strike. A group of homosexual activists decide to show solidarity with the strikers and collect money to support them, but the union is ashamed of this action. The supporters ignore this and leave in a van to a mining village in Wales to deliver their donations in person.
About the exhibition
Verwey Museum Haarlem is celebrating with this colorful and urgent overview exhibition. Dolly Bellefleur, alter ego of comedian, lyricist and rainbow activist Ruud Douma, will be on stage and on the barricades for 28 years from October 2024, 35. In her own unique way, Dolly has been drawing attention to human rights in general, and the acceptance of LGBT+ in particular, for 35 years. The exhibition can be visited until May 11, 2025.

Queer History Month
We are organizing this activity in honor of Queer History Month. The fifth edition of the Queer History Month will take place from March 1 to 31, 2025. Queer History Month place. Museums and cultural institutions throughout the country will then pay special attention to the celebration and transmission of LGBTIQ+ history.
