keti koti – free tour in all of them haarlemmers

On Tuesday 1 July we commemorate and celebrate Keti Koti – the abolition of slavery. To mark the occasion we are organising a free guided tour of the exhibition All Haarlemmers, over 1000 years of history of the city. During this special tour we will take you along objects, paintings and stories that at first glance may seem to have little to do with slavery. But behind these objects are often deeper and sometimes confronting histories.

How did the city benefit from slavery? Which Haarlemmers were involved, directly or indirectly? Our tour guides will tell you all about it.
