First for Haarlem: Verwey Museum Haarlem joins Bloomberg Connects

Our museum is introducing a new digital museum guide via Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and culture app from Bloomberg Philanthropies. The first museum in Haarlem which joins the international platform, offers visitors stories about the exhibitions and the collection.

Passport to culture
Using photos, audio, and video, the guide provides depth and context for the museum's exhibitions, artworks, and objects. The app serves as a "passport to culture," not just to the Verwey Museum. Haarlem, but also to more than a thousand other museums, gardens, archives and cultural institutions worldwide.

Unique content
In the new digital guide, visitors can explore the artworks and objects in the museum at their own pace. The audio tour accompanying her exhibition Rest and Remember (On view until May 25, 2026), artist Jacobien de Rooij reflects on more than fifty years of artistic practice. Erik van Muiswinkel takes visitors on a journey through the Haarlemthis history in All Haarlemmers, and he takes on the role of artist Kees Verwey.

The app can be used not only in the museum, but everywhere. Listen to the excerpts at home or relive past exhibitions. For example, artist Sjoerd Buisman shares his stories and sources of inspiration for his now-closed exhibition. The Nature of Sjoerd Buisman.
