Visitors to the special series of exhibitions that Verwey Museum Haarlem organizes under the title 125 Years of Kees Verwey – Tricks of a Master can now follow a special audio tour, narrated by Erik van Muiswinkel. In the role of Kees Verwey himself, Van Muiswinkel takes you into the life, thoughts and art of this idiosyncratic Haarlemthis painter.
The audio tour offers an in-depth experience full of surprising, witty stories and personal anecdotes. Van Muiswinkel lets Verwey speak for himself. You will hear about the creation of various famous works, about his legendary studio, his wife and muse Jeanne and his sources of inspiration, including greats such as George Breitner, Jan Toorop, Isaac Israels and Jan Sluijters.
